My so-called nephew Bertie and his mom and I went together to see Rock of Ages. I think my auntie of the year status has been revoked.
Pole dancing, sex simulation, pissing, Tom Cruise's codpiece... um....
with his mom covering his eyes, offering parental guidance.
Bertie turned to me during the movie and asked, "Auntie Laura, when will this be over?"
He asked that during the Glee movie too.
Thankfully, he seemed to like the Rock of Ages music, especially since Don't Stop Believin was the big finale and reminiscent of Glee and also since Def Leppard seems to run in his genes.
As we walked out, I said, Bertie, next time, you get to pick the movie we go see. He said, "Yay." and then proceeded to list Three Stooges as one of the movies he wants to see. Ugh. At least he didn't include the Adam Sandler movie.
Oh, and Bertie is 7 1/2. I hope he didn't have 80's fashion nightmares.
But if you're over the age of, oh, say, 35, you might just love the cheeziness and music mash-ups and medleys.
Oh, it's on the list, although BF laughed at me when I said I heard it was good. Good means entertaining, and I'm betting it will be that!
